SCI JCA Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Junior Court Assistant (JCA) post 2025 in the Supreme Court of India, candidates must meet all the eligibility criteria, including age, educational qualifications, and other specified requirements.

Age Limit

To be eligible for the SCI Junior Court Assistant Post, Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age as of 08.03.2025. Age relaxation will be applicable for SC/ST/OBC, differently-abled individuals, ex-servicemen, and dependents of freedom fighters as per existing government rules. Departmental candidates from the Registry of the Supreme Court are exempt from the upper age limit. However, no age relaxation will be provided to candidates employed in other government departments.

Qualification

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, have basic knowledge of computer operations, and achieve a minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) in English to be eligible to apply for the Junior Court Assistant post.

Application Fee

The application fee for the Junior Court Assistant (JCA) post is ₹1000/- for General and OBC candidates, while SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Differently Abled, and Freedom Fighter candidates are required to pay ₹250/-. The payment must be made online and is non-refundable.

The online registration for the Junior Court Assistant post must be submitted between February 5th, 2025, at 10:00 AM and March 8th, 2025, at 11:55 PM through the official website: www.sci.gov.in.

Supreme Court of India Recruitment Exam Pattern

1Objective Type Question paper with multiple choice answers containing 100 questions (consisting of 50 General English questions including comprehension, 25 General Aptitude questions and 25 General Knowledge questions)

Candidates who qualify in the Objective Type Written Test and Objective Type Computer Knowledge Test will be called for the Typing Speed Test on Computer and Descriptive Test. Those who pass these tests will need to appear for an Interview before an Interview Board and secure the minimum qualifying marks. The number of candidates called for the interview will not exceed a ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates per vacancy), depending on the availability of qualified candidates. After qualifying in the prescribed tests and interview, selected candidates will be placed on a merit-based panel for appointment as Junior Court Assistant. However, being placed on the panel does not guarantee appointment to the post.
